Default Have you made a New Year's Sewing Resolution Yet?

We only have two more days till the new year so I'm making my new year's sewing resolution. I only have a couple.

I resolve to finish my UFO's this year.... I don't have that many.
    1. one block wonder
    2. geisha girl quilt
    3. block of the month (nirvana)
    4. my daughter's anniversary quilt (cathedral windows)

and get the 'must make' quilts that I've promised myself to do.
    5. a new great niece quilt to make for the February due date
    6. my last great nephew's quilt so I'm caught up
    7. some memory book marks and pillows from a wedding dress of a friend that passed on.

That's it..... not so much. I think I can do it.

What's your New Year's Sewing Resolution?

Yes, my goal is to accomplish the many facets of my new Berninia. I will be taking another in-depth class in the upcoming months. So much to learn and so little time. As for sewing, I have a couple of patterns that are of the patriotric theme. After that, whatever is on the bucket list. It changes and is added to constantly.

I did a lot of shopping in 2012 and not a lot of quilting--for 2013 I would like to work down many if not all of the projects I purchased this year. I would like to get my etsy store up and running so that I can off-set just a little of what I spend and of course have fun doing it all :-)

i know that many of us have a moratorium on buying new fabric. like That's going to fly! (ok...some of us just might be able to do it. personally, we are going to work with it one month at a time!) link to 26 (!) pages: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...m-t206795.html

and there are pages and page of goals: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t209391.html personally, i need to sit at the machine a little more!

My Grandma always used the saying "Whatever you do on New Year's Day is what you will do all year". In past years I have baked, quilted, been on vacation, etc. and that is just about what I did all year. Well last New Year's Day I was doing laundry, paying bills, and in general, not having a good day. This year has been one big bill-paying-tax-paying year. I did not think it would ever end (got it all completed by Friday) I never entered my sewing room last New Year's Day, I did little sewing that I wanted to do. Not for 2013. I have things set up in my sewing room to cut, piece, sew , quilt and finish! My room is still in transition, but I must be in there...I want to be productive and creative in 2013.
Good luck to all for 2013. Enjoy our craft, and dream big.

Since my Dh is not working as of Dec. 20- I'm not sure it will do any good to make plans for myself. But if I were to make resolutions--complete 6 UFOs, 6 sewing UFOs, organize sewing room, get rid of stuff so I can have a spare bedroom and the ever popular- always on the list- lose 20lbs.

I'm going to clean my studio. I'm going to give away/throw away the things that are needlessly taking up space.

I'm going to get rid of all my scrapbooking, beading and polymer clay stuff.

I'm going to weed the "herd" down to five or six sewing machines, instead of the current 30-something.

I'm going to finish at least one quilt every month.
