I have used it and love it, but if you are concerned about anything checkout their website and just give them a call. I've done that and they respond quickly. They also have a batting that is made specially for babies that has fire retardent .

GREEN FACTS: Studies show that the energy saved by recycling a single plastic bottle – as compared to producing a new one from scratch – is enough to power a single 60-watt bulb for six hours. The amount of petroleum saved annually by using postconsumer bottles instead of virgin materials in the manufacturing process is enough to supply power to a city the size of Atlanta for an entire year! It is reported the process of recycling plastic bottles results in a 66% reduction of energy consumption, nearly 90% reduction of water usage and reduction of carbon dioxide by 2.5 times.
Dream Green comes in these sizes:
Craft 46" x 36"
(keeping 3.5 bottles from the landfill)
Crib 46" x 60"
(keeping 5.5 bottles from the landfill)
Throw 60" x 60"
(keeping 7 bottles from the landfill)
Twin 93" x 72"
(keeping 13 bottles from the landfill)
Double 96" x 93"
(keeping 17 bottles from the landfill)
Queen 108" x 93"
(keeping 20 bottles from the landfill)
Super Queen 93" x 121"
(keeping 24 bottles from the landfill)
King 122" x 122"
(keeping 28 bottles from the landfill)
Bolts 46" x 15 linear yards Just like a bolt of fabric!
(keeping 49.5 bottles from the landfill)
61" x 15 linear yards Just like a bolt of fabric!
(keeping 64 bottles from the landfill)
Throw Roll 60" x 30 linear yards
(keeping 120 bottles from the landfill)
Queen Folded Roll 93" x 30 linear yards
(keeping 200 bottles from the landfill)
King Folded Roll 122" x 25 linear yards
(keeping 220 bottles from the landfill)
Couldn't find anything about flammability, though they do have a flame retardant version of their batting.

We bought carpet some years back that was made out of recycled pop bottles. It's a long story as to why we did that, but basically, we needed something for high traffic and that would be durable. Every time we had it professionally cleaned, we were told that it was a really good carpet and easy to clean. No one else knew it was made out of recycled pop bottles. It looked the same after several years of use as it did the day of installation. I'm all for sensible recycling!

My first package of Dream Green was delivered yesterday. It is a light mint green color. But it is super soft, very even in depth and has a nice low loft density like warm and natural cotton batting. No thin spots or unevenness. I have a dark colored top I am working on so will use it on that quilt. No need to prewash as max shrinkage is 1%. Thanks to all for your help!

Our guild makes charity and hospital quilts. We do not use poly batting for any of the hospital quilts because if they were to burn the poly melts and would stick to skin. So, for baby and children, and elderly people quilts I would not use.
