You've got a good diagonal going there, why not use that idea for straight line stitching.

I think a meander in a contrasting thread would look nice and you could add a few stars in with your meander if you're comfortable with them. (since there are little stars in the print fabric)

    I agree with feline fanatic

Cute quilt! I would say cross hatch the middle. Just a thought.

I vote cross hatch for the middle. Very cute quilt, unusual. They will love it!

I agree with diagonal quilting the middle. The spacing is up to you.

I vote for some type of circles or flowing pattern in the middle to soften all the straight lines. The Baptist Fan would be good. Some type of waves or Suns with sharp crisp points and round centers. Anything other than straight.

If I was doing this quilt I would cross hatch with straight lines in the center. If you do anything fancy in the middle you will be hating life in my opinion!

Cute Quilt. Maybe curbside; 1/4-1/2" from the ditch.

Since you have the curves of the rainbows and the circle prints in the squares, I might opt for a diagonal quilting thru the squares (but I always like the linear stuff!).
