the post card idea is great and i would do it in either black or a color that goes well with all the colors, maybe a dark gray, you want something that is muted and will help the colors to really pop. you could even do two wall hanging size ones. one for her and one for you. just a thought.

What beautiful blocks. I would frame them with black and make a wall hanging. Every time you looked at it you could think of your friend.

The post card quilt would be cute using this technique to make them "float". Happy sewing!

Katier825, I didn't know how to describe it the way you did and this is just what I wanted to suggest. Each square is most likely representative of something native to Hawaii. They are special.

I liked the post card quilt, that may be an idea for me. I also bought some yardage so I have the backing fabric I am sure. Thanks guys for your help.

This is how I'm going to use my Hawaiian prints. The pattern is called Seattle Streets.

This is exactly what I would do. Black sashing would let the colors in the fabrics shine. And turning it into a lap quilt would always remind you of your friend.

Of course, we're all curious as to what you're going to do with these fabrics, so be sure to let us know!
