Hi - My DH and Mum and I are going to Maui in January, and one of the days (when DH goes SCUBA diving) my mum and I would love to take a class on Hawaiian Quilting. Does anyone have a point of contact?
I was going to ask the concierge, but he/she might not know and to wait that long and be unprepared would be so sad.
I love the hawaiian style and we would like to take a class together.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much (in advance :) :))

I was there a couple of years ago and found this shop. I wish I could have taken their Hawaiian Quilting class while I was there, next time. It is a great little shop at Kihei on Maui. A friend of mine was just there in September and was able to take a one day Hawaiian quilting class. It is a little shop, but they have great fabric and patterns. Have a great time.

One thing you HAVE to do is go to the Lavender Farm!!! Ok, maybe the road to Hana, but the Lavender Farm is MUCH better!!!

For a quilt shop on Maui that offers classes - http://www.mauiquiltshop.com/index_020.htm

If you spend any time on Oahu, check out this link for classes every Saturday at the Iolani Palace.

Iluv2Quilt - DH and I went last January and LOVED it so much that we came back and made reservations to take my mum this year :).

Tirnhi - :) Road to Hana is on our list. Now the Lavender farm :). We only have 8 days and I know the time will fly.

Dunster - We aren't planning on Oahu this year (stopped on 4 islands last year--part of a 14 day cruise), but I am definitely contact the maui quilt shop for a class :). I am so excited about learning the Hawaiian style quilt pillow.

I was just in Maui a couple weeks ago and did get to visit the shop in Kiehei. There is also another shop in the Queen somethingorother mall in the main town. I did not have the time for a class so I did not inquire about it. Hope you have a great time!
