Welcome to the crowd of new machine owners with DUH! moments!
I'm glad you figured it out fairly quickly and it was a no cost fix!

glad it wasn't the machine. I know that feeling when it starts talking to you and you don't know what to do to help it except take it in to the "machine doctor"

My "ESSIE" was looping bottom threads really bad the other day. I rethreaded, refilled a bobbin with the thread I was using on top, just in case it was different. Cleaned everything I could, redid everything again....I had been sewing just fine when this decided to happen....I had even put in a new needle the day before....I was thinking as you were...service will be a loan, I'm sure. plus my closest dealer now is about 100 miles away. Decicde as last resort to change needle...sews beautifully as almost always usual again....Must have been a bad needle....Panic attack is now gone! WHEW!

You can check that off your list of wrong things to do, there will be more to come. Just when I think I've made all the possible mistakes, here comes another, or I start all over again. Glad it was an easy fix.

Oh, I'm so glad Pearl is OK! I had a night like that last night, too. Guess we're members of the same club.
