Oh gosh, if that's the worst thing you ever do, you're in great shape! I've got lots worse examples than that!

Tell her not to worry yet....its when you forget to write the notes that she needs to worry....I also have notes all over my house. notes upstairs- about what to do downstairs...notes about winding the clocks, and putting the trash out.....Don't need a note to remember to quilt !!!!
    You're right!!

Haven't we all done something like that! It's great to find it's something simply instead of a costly repair!

So glad Pearl is ok. I don't think you should feel too bad though. Last week I was ready to pitch mine out the window of my second-story sewing room. Spent a LONG time fussing with my machine, just before getting homicidal with it, I noticed that the presser foot was still up...

If that makes you stupid then I must be the queen of stupidity. This morning I was machine piecing, took a break, and decided that the color thread I had in my machine was a match for mending a small tear in an older shirt. I set the machine for zig zag and what a noise! My needle broke and that's when I realized I had my single hole plate in! Duh

Just think of the frustration you saved yourself the next time this happens. You'll know right away what is wrong!
