Welcome from Oklahoma
A native of El Paso
Rulers: Absolutely necessary maybe not.... essential to sanity... definitely.
I quilted for years without them but after getting a set last year, I have used them extensively. My theory is that they weren't available to the pioneer women or my grandmother and their quilts were square and precise.

Good morning & welcome from Liberty Hill TX. You'll love this msg. board - I just joined last mo. & it is filled w/wonderful sharing, helpful people (from ALL OVER THE WORLD - that's so cool)
I just have the basics I guess, a reg. marked plastic cutting ruler, a triangle & a square one. (not sure what brand or what they are even called, they are so old).
I was born just down the road from you, in Ft. Hancock - but that was 77 yrs ago, & my folks moved when I was young. Understand it was just a "wide spot" in the road then, & not much bigger now. ;-)
Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love.
