What is the easy way to change the size of a block, I have a star pattern that is 8" finished. I would like to change the size to 12" ???

By the way my name is Colleen, I live in Utah and having be quilting for about 4 yrs or so. I try and attend different work shops so that I can learn more, but sometimes it to much. I'm getting ready to start a quillt for my niece and her husband. I done this for all the married kids, when they reach one year. The block I found is only an 8" block and I want to enlarge it. So help!!!!!

Look up a site like quilterscache.com and see if they have a 12" one there that you could use.

I found a block on-line, if this is like the block I can help.

Your squares should be 3 1/2".
I would make the half square triangle with 4 1/2" squares and square them to 3 1/2".
