Cute idea. Wish I knew about "I spy" quilts when my kids were smaller.
I know I don't have anything, but if you put pairs or multiples of objects in your quilt it could become a matching game for her. "Can you find another ____?" "How many _____ can you find?"

WHAT SIZE DO YOU WANT THEM CUT?
Although if you are working with a 12 inch size finished block, you can use 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 and 6.5 inch squares very easily
How do you feel about cats?
And please don't say "It doesn't matter" - I need way more quidelines than that.
I've found that some fabrics cut up better in different size squares than others.
You'd think a scatter print would work well no matter what. Not in my opinion, anyway.
