    Does the screen light up? If some things work, and other things don't, it could be a circuit board is blown, or a stepping motor became disconnected. No oiling under the lid, except at both ends of the shaft. And you don't take the bottom off, the bottom arm cover comes off... if you can find the screw to release it.

    Sounds like it needs to go to the doc. I have the 180E and it is not supposed to be oiled all over like someone suggested. If the wheel turns freely, and the bobbin is not still engaged, it must be an electronic or computer problem. Better to let the professional check it out.

    Bernina are ones that need to get in for servicing every 12 to 18 months. I had my Bernina 1530 stop running due to accumulation of dust bunnies in the far back corner that I do not have access to.

    maniacquilter2, correct. That is exactly what the repairman said. She is getting a good cleaning. Should be as good as new in about a week or so. Feeling excited
