sunkistmi, you said for most of the lines you didn't even soak and it came out. What often happens if you don't soak is that the blue doesn't disappear it just sinks into the batting and can come back up to the quilt top again. It is important to soak the blue completely out.

Vinegar is supposed to remove blue and purple marks even if they have been set.

I also read a post about vinegar working - I haven't tried it myself yet.

Wendy...I admire you for being the kind of person people know will take such care of orphaned kittens. I hope you find a solution for your blue line....

I got the blue marking pen out of a raffle quilt that would go away but come back time after time. I used FIT vegetable wash. The mark never came back.

Thank you everyone for all the help each of you have written. The quilt was given to the young girl that adopted the kitten and she loved it. I don't think she even noticed the blue marking pen since it ended up being very faint. The kitten is growing up to be a very sweet and wonderful cat in a great home. I feel so blessed to be able to help these animals that cannot help themselves. I get so much joy from doing it and will continue to do so as long as I am able. I hope everyone has a wonderful spring. God bless.
