That quilt is so pretty and I agree that a narrow border would frame the quilt, stop the eye, and flow to the piano keys. Striking!

I like both the quilt and the border but agree with nativetexan that maybe a solid in between them to transition. Good luck in your choice

I am wondering if it is the width of the red piano keys compared to the size of the squares in the 9 patch. Try making them the width of the sashing and make just a small piece and see if that is more pleasing to your eye. It really is up to what you are pleased with. Good Luck !!

I agree too, it needs a narrow plain border between to separate the pieced sections. Pretty quilt!

Great quilt and I really like the border.......I don't think it needs a narrow inner border I think the white creates its own inner border and your piano keys just sort of float and I like that effect.

Like it this way. The piano border rectangles are good with the squares in the sashing. Nice work.

This is one kool quilt. Does the pattern have a name? I agree with the small inner border. BrendaK

I agree with a small border then your piano key border. It tells your eye to stop here. You made a beautiful quilt.
