I would do the stripe! Look at the red pepper quilt blog. She uses stripe binding all the time and it looks fantastic!

Love it, so cute! I like it as is, but for me, it would depend on the wall I was going to hang it on. If it's a light colored wall, stay with the black, if it's a darker colored wall, I would bind it with the background fabric or the stripes.

A very cute "row" pattern. My vote is black binding too.

    Black.

I love your wall hanging, background fabric and all! Very cute! (I think this would look great over the door in an entry hall).

First thing I noticed was that cute ticking stripe. I think I would bind with that.

Thank you Citrus County Quilter. Never heard of facing a quilt but I'm going to try it. It was so clearly written. I'm going to try to add the sleeve like the last person that commented on the tutorial did. Hers.

    Hey...we're neighbors...I'm in Lake County!

I vote for black.....any other colour would take away from the umbrellas.

black so the umbrellas are the focus--don't quilt on the umbrellas, maybe a "wood grain" on the black frame (check Leah Day's website to see how to do that) and then "raindrops" or wavey lines to look like water on the background. Lovely wall hanging and I like your idea of using a stiffer"bat"

I would used a binding that has strips of each umbrella fabric in it.
