Ladies & Gentlemen: here is my dilemma. There will be two quilts. I had originally picked black for the sashing and binding but the person I am making these for picked black as the accent on the chinese lanterns. I am thinking of using a green to pick up the green in the panels and the blocks but after seeing all the quilts on this board I just know I can count on my new friends to help me pick just the right color - what do you say?

    The second panel

Maybe a thin green border and then a bigger black border ? That way the latterns don't fade into the border and gives you some seperation. just a thought

I see a deep red to tie it all together.

I like the deep red, and was also wondering about that gray-blue in the kimonos..although not as dramatic as the red.

I'm seeing a whole new color value being added. A dark chocolate brown, maybe a tone on tone or a rich brown batik For teh binding I would use the solid gold fabric.

Thanks for the input. I think I will use the green and black sashing for the pagodas and a red and black sashing for the geishas. :)
