I started today on a new twin sized butterfly quilt. I am having problems with what to use as a background as all of them are going to be Appliqued.
The finished block will be 9 inches. The sashes will be 4 inches finished. The border finished will be 13 inches. I am comtemplating the Background,Should it be beige? or another color. Will the mint green be right for the border, WHEEE!!! I am sending pictures, one is of the pattern in the book,no name so I hope I am not wrong in posting it. The other is the butterflies without their Body  :D I am thinking taking a color from each butterfly and making the body. The wings are to be embroider to bring out sections a back stitch, but I am going to use satin stitch. :-) The last is of the beige muslim with green for borders and the butterflies there are 15 of them.
Need some input if other colors would be better please let me know.

I agree, the muslin color would make those beautiful butterfly fabrics pop! That is going to be beautiful with the fabrics your chose.

Ohhh how pretty is this gonna be!! I agree too...the muslin....mostly because the mint green is very close to one of the butterfly bodies...it may get lost in the mint green back ground. But the green will be perfect for the sashing and borders!! We expect updates now...don't forget!! :D

I think you have very fine eye for choosing colors.
Your quilt is going to be beautiful.
If you are having a quandary over the colors, consider that you are looking at samples and your choices are different. Sometimes, when I look at a pattern, the reason I am attracted to it is because of the colors. And, sometimes, I discount a pattern I might be attracted to because I can't get past the chosen colors.
I am so excited for your newest endeavor. Those butterflies are so promising and classic.
