Does anyone know of a site or can help me with anything to do with military applique patterns? I am making a plain flag lapquilt and want to add appliques shapes on it. I have the USA and a helicopter but would love more. I am making them for the veterans who enter the hospice I volunteer at. I can send a picture of the top I make so far . need help figuring outh how to jazz it up a bit

Forgot to mention It will also have a solid border

Which branch of service? I would go to that branch's website and print pics from there. Then trace them onto paper with a heavy black marker. There is your pattern!

They will be for all branches. Plan to make as many as I can offer to make.so really a BASIC Patriotic design will be best. The flag seemed fast and easy to make. And I have some of the blue with the stars to make 2 tops with. Plus have another different star fabric and figured any red and white fabric I can use.

also going to make pinwheels out of red white and blue for other quilts. Till I run out of those color fabrics.

Google Patriotic coloring pages, or Patriotic designs.

I'm thinking the Bald Eagle holding onto a bunting like you saw everywhere during 1976. You know, with his wings spread and his head turned to the side.

I designed some patriotic stencils for The Stencil Co.
There is a continuous star border that would work in the long strips as well as a border with flags that would aso work in the strips. You can see them on their web site.
