    [ATTACH=CONFIG]463355[/ATTACH]This is a block I tried called a Pineapple Express block. It is very similar to yours except with the borders. Some of us on another quilting forum tried this several years ago. I would have to look to see if I still have the pattern if you are interested.

    I was just using up scraps to try the block so ignore the fabrics! LOL

    After searching the web tonight, I found Judy Martin's book, Scrap Quilts, that has the pattern I posted above. It was on Amazon, used as low as less than $2.00. It could easily be adapted to leave off the surrounding strips and replace with squares. Hope this helps.
