We will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary in Feb and I thought it would be fun to have our guest sign a block then make them into a quilt later. Also need to do this for my DGD who will be getting married in June. Anyone have a good pattern or tell me where I can find a few different ones to choose from? Someone suggested Rail Fence but I cant find the pattern

Rail fence is just 3 strips sewn together. You can make the center one light so they can sign them. Then you sew them together in alternating directions. Or you can do the one where there's a diagonal strip in the center and colored on either side. I like that one better.

btw-Congratulations in advance! DH and I will be married 17 yrs next month.

Quiltville.com has a few nice patterns for signing. So does the quilterscache.com

go to www.quilterscache.com and into free patterns.
then search for album blocks or signature blocks. there are several types of blocks that work for signatures.

Wow, congratulations! That's a wonderful idea. Wish I had done that for my parent's 25th, it would be great to have it today as a rememberance.

When you make up the blocks iron some freezer paper on the back and it will be easier to sign. Also you might want to mark the sewing line so nobody goes into it when signing.
