Default Help finding Star Fling quilt block pattern

I am in need of making a 12 1/2" finished block in Star Fling pattern.
The pattern I found uses 3 1/2" squares & I think it ends up with a 10 1/2 block (not sure).
How do I convert to making a 12 1/2" block (which will be 12" when sewn into a quilt.
    I hope this makes sense.

I don't know your Star Fling pattern. If you are starting with a 10-1/2" unfinished block,
it may be difficult to convert it easily to a 12-1/2" unfinished,
without getting into odd measurements to make it work.

That being said, it may work out perfectly.

You could draw your finished block out on graph paper.

If cutting individual pieces, be sure to allow for extra fabric for the seam allowances.

Or you could use the graph paper drawing as your PP pattern.

    Default eight-point star

If it's the same Star Fling ... cut your corners and center 4½"x4½"; make flying geese 4½"x2½", adding a strip 4½"x2½" to make it a 4½"x4½" square:

Is this the block/pattern you are looking for?

If so, I would cut the squares at 4-1/2 inches, and make templates for the pointy units.

It looks like the points are about 2/3 of the height of the unit.

Because 4 inches is awkward to divide by 3, I drew the height of the points at 2-3/4 inches. That could be adjusted to make the points taller or shorter.

I would mark the pieces for where to line up the seams until I became comfortable with where/how to line them up properly.

This is how I make templates:

If the cut size of your squares are 3 1/2 inches, and the block is what I think it is, your "finished size" will be 9 inches.

You "lose" 1/2 inch off each piece to/in the seam allowances.

I see the prints as an Ohio Star block with larger corner squares and rectangles added to the geese.
