I need help!! Does anyone know of a video on how to piece a two part rectangle? I assume that it's called a half rectangle triangle- a rectangle with triangles from different fabrics. I am new to quilting and have never made this rectangle before. The pattern I am using has a paper piecing diagram and says you can also use your favorite methods. I am a visual learner and would like to find a tutorial on the best way to piece triangles when you have a rectangular shape. I have looked but most are on half square triangles, which I can make. I tried the paper piecing with scrap material, but don't think I am doing it correctly. Thanks.

Do you want to have the corners a different color. One project is to take little square that is the same size and sew it across the rectangle and then flip it over and the corners are square. I am not too good about explaining so maybe someone will have better directions. You put the square at one end and sew it at an angle. I am not helping but maybe you can get the idea.

Perhaps you could check out Pam Bono's site www.pamsclub.com She has tutorials for this sort of piecing, is not expensive, and if you join everything is discounted - a lot- and heaps of free stuff. I have loads of her patterns etc.

Thank you so much, Hevemi and Dunster, I have read the directions on all three sites and it has really helped. My brain was fried yesterday from the search. It doesn't help at all when you aren't sure what to call what you are trying to make. It was the HRT. You guys on this Board are always so helpful and I really appreciate it. Thanks again. I am off to practice and decide which is my "favorite" method. LOL

Gay, I just checked out Pam's Club too, and there is a free block that uses the same rectangles and she shows a different technique that looks really easy. And I may have to make the block. It is gorgeous. Thanks again.
