    That was my first thought, skip to the outline.

    You might also try looking for a redwork design which will work well for quilting.
    I found a ribbon that has an outline with fill. I'm going to use this suggestion to skip the fill and use just the outline. Of course I'll work a practice first just to make sure.

    I want to thank all of you for your suggestions. I have to admit I was in a bit of a panic mode. I'm laying out the sandwich now to pin it. I'll post a photo here when it's done. Thank you all again, Mona

    I am sure the quilt will give your friend great comfort whilst on her journey..It looks like a lot of thought has been put into the quilt..
