I belong to an online group for men and I am participating in a block exchange. The theme is red and white fabrics. I can do any pattern I choose. I have three white fabrics and three reds, so far. Just love fabric shopping. I would like to do simple but eloquent.

    Help me, I need ideas!

Have you ever heard of http://quilterscache.com/ ? She's got hundreds and hundreds of patterns listed, and they're all free. You can search by block name or block size. The patterns are marked with pins for degree of difficulty. There's also pictures of all blocks done, both with the software used to graph them, and "real" pictures of blocks/quilts made by the testers. I am sure you'll find something there.

My favorite block is churn dash. It would look great in these, and is quick to make.

If you need inspiration do a google images search for "red white quilt infinite variety"

You will see pictures from the exhibit from Folk Art Museum in NYC. Here's the exhibit description ...

This is an excellent site! You will find just about any pattern you need there in different sizes and well explained steps for construction the blocks.

Red and White would no doubt mean you should make a Canadian maple leaf in honour of our flag!! .... Our Canada Day is July 1st, so totally timely and appropriate!!!

Here's a pic of the red and white GFG I am making. I know it is probably too flowery for guys, but you get the idea. I'll send you this if you are interested. Just PM your addy. It just needs to be appliqued to a block, I'm thinking solid red.
