    Default Help identifying quilt pattern

So glad to find this board! Thanks for adding me.

I have found a hand sewn 1950s quilt top but can't identify the block pattern. The pieces are all identical and are almost a bow (or nuclear reactor) shape. I bet you all will know it, and appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks!

Those are known as apple cores. Welcome to the board.

Welcome and although the pattern is apple core, I think nuclear reactor is a cute name too!

Apple core it is. And I remember my grandmother quilting with fabrics from the 50s.

Welcome, maxine! What a charming quilt you found. I hope to make an apple core quilt someday.
