Okay, the quilt is hand tied now and the velvet basted to the silk front. I have made 3" bias binding out of the silk velvet with fine interfacing on it to stabilize it. I have four long strips cut. Question is, how should I attach it?... and address the corners? The velvet will be bulky because it is double so a mitered corner will be difficult. I thought of putting a bias strip on each side and then making the miter by hand at each corner by stitching the strips together at the corners. I hope you can understand that. Problem is, I can't remember how to do that. I have seen it in one of my quilting books but can't find it. I could have this thing done by now if I wasn't putting off the binding. I am going to sew it with the walking foot on the velvet side and then hand sew it to the silk side once I get it applied. Any and all ideas welcome. Pics will follow when it is completed, hopefully today :!: :?

I saw one once by an old lady with a short temper, (NOT me, although sounds like something I would do in frustration) she finally just gathered the corners and it looked pretty. At least she was able to call it Finished!!! It looked to be silk velvet, dark shining red, real pretty with the crazy quilting and all the different fabrics and embroidery on it.
