Default Help me figure material for D9P

I bought a kit and then misplaced it. LOL FOund it and decided I wanted to use the 36 - 4" or 4 1/2" strips WOF in a D9P. I was thinking the print fabric for the corner blocks. The 36 strips are all the same fabric line but different prints.

If I was to use 3 plain colors
One for the middle square and the other 2 colors for the outside middles.

How much more fabric would I have to buy of the solids?

My daughter decided that if she pulled in some solids this could maybe work as her 4h quilt.

Please help me figure this out.

    Thanks in advance.

She saw the pictures of the D9P and liked them.

    Here's what I would do.

    1. Make nine strip sets using the prints top and bottom and the center solid color 1.
    2. Make nine strip sets using the prints top and bottom and the center solid color 2.
    3. Make nine strip sets using solid 1 in top, solid 3 in the middle and solid 2 on the bottom.

Yardage will depend on the width of your print strips. If they are 4", you will need 72", of solids 1 and 2 and 36" of solid 3. If 4.5", you will need 81" of solids 1 and 2 and 40.5" of solid 3. Plus whatever makes you comfortable to square off the ends, and any skrinkage is you prewash. I always buy 1/4 to 1/2 yard extra, but I like applique and scrappy, so some extra is no problem for me.

    Thanks a million.

Off to find the material that matches.
I'm going to order from the designer. Quilt shops did not match up.
