Cannot speak for future neice, but when my nephew got married they were offered a handmade quilt, or cash, and they chose the money. Didn't know what color they would be using. I think you have chosen beautiful fabric, and it should make up beautifully.

Have her send you 4 or 5 paint chips from the hardware store and have her mark them 1-5, #1 being the dominate color she wants. Then you can use them when you shop for the fabric and the pattern. This way she'll be able to make some plans for decorating the bedroom also.

Buy the quilt from Pottery Barn for her and make one for yourself with those gorgeous fabrics you bought. She's not going to appreciate all the work and $ that go into a handmade quilt. Just sayin'

It sounds to me that she isn't quite committed to the guy she is going to marry. If she was, she would be more into what the soon-to-be Inlaws were doing, and care a little more. This is her way of not hurting anyone's feelings. Go ahead and make your quilt, or what you should like, if it doesn't work out between the couple, the you made something for yourself. Good luck.

Make what you would like, maybe she is trying to say that she will love whatever you make, and wants it to be something that you choose, which would make it special. The fabrics are beautiful!! I have said that a lot myself because I don't like to tell anyone what to make for me.

You did a great job on matching the colors she likes. I'd do a pattern that includes the large blocks she was drawn to. Pick out something you'd like to make and enjoy the process. She probably is not aware of what is involved in making a quilt or in the difference between what she saw in the store and what you do. Maybe this quilt will be the beginning of her love of quilts.

I'm happily committed to making a wedding quilt for a nephew whose girl friend I've never met. She very strong minded and decisive according to my sister, her future in law. But I can get no information from her reguarding her quilt.
I've posted her quilt preference from the Pottery Barn cataloque, but it's not a quilt in my opinion.
I can get no information whether she wants it Puffy, comforter or duvet style, or a proper quilt in those colours (It took me 3 months to hunt suitable fabrics close to her choice), blocks or pattern. Her only response is "I'll leave it up to you". I'm driving myself crazy here trying to decide how to approach this. She's seen my work so she does or should know the difference between her Pottery Barn picture and my style of work.
Help me decide.
