Pictures can render colors weirdly, but to me, your beige isn't so much muddy as the wrong tone. The design fabrics have a lot of yellow in them, and the beige looks either too gray or even pinkish, depending on where you look.
What were you planning to do with it? If it's going to be a baby quilt, you're likely most of the way there and could do a quick finish. Maybe pillows? Your design fabrics are so pretty that I'd either a) start over if I had extra fabric and use a different solid or b) do a quick finish and give it away. I wouldn't proceed to a large project if I didn't like the beige, myself.
Hugs, charlotte

Ditto, love the one on left, and gives more room for creative quilting, which will really enhance your quilt. love secondary designs!!

Go with the original diamond design. It is going to be beautiful. You loved the pattern or design when you started and you will love it when it is finished. You are just having a case of "buyers remorse" or "cold feet". Just sew through it and you will be happy at the end. Please post a picture when you finish. Just remember...we do what we do because we love what we do.
