How about a demo of this quilting forum? Sew Cindy showed our guild at one of our Saturday Sews. That is how I found out about it!

A very well received and enjoyed demo that I have done over and over is "How to Make YoYo's and Ruched Flowers". If you are not familiar with these there are a number of instructions on the web. Just google them. I make up small kits with fabric, thread and needle for making and taking home for future reference.

Yes, how to sew on binding the right way. Can't believe how many quilters are stumped by such a simple process

maybe something less technical- more fun and playing with color.

scrappy log cabins- even wonky ones?
    liberated stars
    disappearing 9 patch or D4P

or every way you know of to make HST's. Knowing lots of ways to do a basic in quilting in invaluable.

For scrappy ones i like the method of using spray starch to iron 2 pieces of fabric together-***right sides together****. Then cut hst's and sew. The spray starch keeps the fabrics from shifting when you cut and would help beginners handle the bias edge.
