My first go-to when looking for ideas is always Quiltblocks Galore, Marcia Hohn's website, she has thousands of free patterns. BTW, I love red and purple together, so it doesn't sound crazy to me, good thing you don't live close by, or I'd be coming over all the time for a color fix!

I picture a nice modern quilt block - there are so many out there now - try www.ohfransson.com - she has some really good ideas.

When I want ideas for a certain fabric, first I search here. I put in my colors and/or name of the fabric and see what others have done. If I don't find any here, I do a google search with my colors in the "image" section.

There are some great quilts here also. Just search by "lap quilts" and you should get a ton.

You might want to start by checking the manufacturer's website for the company that made that fabric line. They just might have a pattern to go along with the fabrics you bought, or they might have a pattern with another line that would work with your fabrics. Most of the time, those patterns are free to download and print. Plus you can determine right away if you have sufficient yardage or need to buy more (Oh, NO! What a shame!!). Good luck finding a pattern. You might also want to browse the websites for the different magazines, they usually have web extras of patterns from past & current issues.

What are you looking for...appliqué, piecing? Are you looking for a modern look...Shadowbox or French Braid. For a more tradional look maybe a Lone Star would be the one to do. If it's appliqué blocks, I would look through www.quilterscache in Quilt blocks galore.

You don't mention drapes at your windows. Do you want to make valences? You mention your purple sofas. Do you want to make a lap quilt? Sofa pillows? Slip covers for lamp shades? Or do you just want some suggestions for block patterns?
