help with ohio star
#1
I am new to quilting and am starting on a quilt made up of all Ohio Star blocks with square in a square centers.
I was having trouble getting the blocks straight so I tried paper piecing and that works much better.
However, the spots where the points of the inner square meet the inner points of the star rays have So Much Bulk that they are difficult to sew over without veering off course and they don't really lie flat.
Is there some trick to this?

the trick is to use your iron as much as your sewing machine. the directions do not usually mention that but ironing and starching go along way. .............also at each intersection put in a long pin to keep the seams together before sewing.
