Wow! You did an awesome find. The fabrics looks great. I never had a find like that with vintage hankies and quilting books for 10 cents.

Will definitely go the homeless, disaster, and soldier route, but they'll probably be easier quilts until my comfort level improves.

    I'm still in shock.

Easy quilts are great, I make lots of them! I've been quilting for over 20 years.
This quilt looks really difficult, but its not. I just finished
my first one, got another one ready to cut out.

Wow what a great purchase you made! I don't always prewash before quilting but I do test for color running. Especially a red color. I cut a small 2"X2" piece and soak it in a cup of boiling water to see if the color is going to run.
You should also check out the Quiltville.com site. Her scrappy quilts are great. I have made a few and they are a great way to use those strips you have that are already cut.

Maksi, it is shrink instead of shrimp, but we all got the idea anyway, I think, LOL.

I wouldn't wash strips and small squares. Too much of a headache.

Yup, found that out the hard way. I accidently threw a couple in the wash. Never again, I hope.
