I have a LAQ quilting my charity quilts now but she doesn't even trim them which is fine with me. It is probably good for use to ask if they do attach the binding.
Wedding gift???? Chill, they are more concerned with other things. It's just a corner. Just repair it, wrap it and enjoy the ooohhhhs. We are much too critical of our work.
