Time to make friends with the seam ripperand take off the trim and redo it. It is okay the same mistake has been made by all of us at one time or another, you forgot to calculate for the seam allowance. I hope you have only done one block like this.

take the trim off, and save the piece. another project will come along for you to need that strip.
Redo the trim. the one inch trim you added will make the 6.5 unfinished block.
Been there. Done that. Join the club.

Take off the binding/framing and check that your original block is square. It looks as if you have sewn the binding on in a crooked manner to begin with. Then if you sew a 3/4" border all around with a 1/4" seam, you will have no need to trim anything.

I to would take it off and redo. I know I have had to rip out an awfully lot in my time of quilting. I really like your color combinations. Keep posting.

I have found that I need to measure at each step of the way. Sometimes I have to sketch it out and write the measurements on the sketch. Then slow down and go step by step. That way I won't be as inclined to make a mistake. If you have the fabric, take the border off and do it over. Anything else won't look right and you won't be happy with it.

Redo the border. The butterfly is pretty and will make a lovely quilt.

    Default Final ones

Ok here are my final ones that I am mailing today. If they aren't what they need to be just discard them. I guess that the only way that you can learn is to try. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

These look wonderful! How did you do them? I'm new to quilting and have not attempted this type of quilt yet.
