I did the same thing with the blue painter's tape....used it to mark some areas of a wall hanging and the forgot about it for over a year. Easy to remove, but left a sticky substance in two small areas - probably about an inch each. I decided to just applique over the area. Guess that would not work on a large area tho....
Good luck with all the great suggestions.

Buy Carbona made for getting glue out. I've bought it at the grocery store and at Wal Mart. It is great stuff. froggyintexas
i used masking tape to outline my quilt project, and then put it aside thinking i'd get back to it. now, it's two years later. i have just finished it, but now the glue from the tape won't come out. i did not come out in the wash. any and all suggestions on what will take the glue out would be most appreciated.

There is a product called UnDo that will remove the tape residue and is not toxic. Photograph restorers use it to remove photos stuck to glass frames with no harm to the photo. I found it at Hobby Lobby and Walmart. Goo Gone works and if you have it Spray and Wash will work too.
