Help, please - top thread problem
I just finished a quilt on my Babylock Unity and am trying to make an embroidered label. For some reason, the stitching is skipping and then stops... with error message to check and rethread the upper thread. I have threaded and re-threaded dozens of times but cannot get this fixed. I also tried changing the spool of thread and the bobbin. Naturally, it is Sunday and the shop is closed. And yes, need it done yesterday I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Mel

Is this thread you've used before in embroidery? My machine doesn't like certain kinds of thread and will not act properly. Also is your needle new and the correct kind i.e. embroidery needle. Sometimes you just have to turn it off and go away and let it rest. Have a glass of wine and come back later. LOL

first thought that came to my head... could the 'sensor' be picking up some lint or snip of thread, that is 'throwing off the machine', some of our machine can be oh so sensitive. If you have 'canned air', try blowing out the threading area carefully. Also, somewhere in my memory banks, I remember about threading or clearing the disc area with dental floss to clean sewing machine.
Before you re-thread AGAIN try a good clean.
If all else fails, then it might be time to see the DR. (machine, not you)

I would get some polyester thread and floss the tension disks. Make sure the foot is up, so there's no tension. Next, even if you are sure, sure, sure you are threading correctly, I'd get the manual out and look at the threading diagram.
