I purchased a kit to make a baby blanket from. I'm not following the pattern but am doing something different with it - just wanted the fabric. Great deal at Tuesday Morning. Anyway, there is a plush fabric (not sure what it you would call it) that is very similar to minky in feel. I've cut alot of 2.5 x 5.5 strips from this but when I try to pin them together this plush fabric rolls or stretches. Any suggestions as to how to handle this? It's driving me bonkers!!

Really want to finish this soon. It's a doll quilt for a very special young lady who received a baby brother for Christmas. She's starting to feel a bit left out Want her to know that she will always be special in my heart.

I've not specifically used that fabric, but I've done others that stretch and roll (made a dress from stretch velvet and another from a crazy embossed crepe once upon a time).

Anyway, I used pins about every inch or so on my seams. Did not know about using glue sticks back then, but would definitely try that now.

Yes you need to pin it a lot! every inch sounds good. It's a pain but needful to be happy with the results.

In addition to lots and lots of pins, use a walking foot if you have one.

Use spray basting! And pins. And walking foot. And a wider seam; like 1/2 inch.

I'm having trouble pinning it. It slips! Don't have any spray baste. Must get some.

maybe you can baste or paste the strips to light paper for stability.

You might try using water soluble interfacing over the seams to keep them from shifting. Probably easier to pin, too.
