Well, I put scraps of red and white in a pan with hot water and soap and swished it around and then let it sit. No bleeding. Did it in cold water, no bleeding but I didn't expect any. So, I ordered some Synthrapol thru Walmart (we don't have any stores in Inverness other than WalMart so I do most of my shopping online) and have the color catchers and will cross my fingers. If it turns out pink instead of white I will just keep it for myself.... might anyway. :-) Thanks for the help.

I had the same thing happen to me with red being left on the ironing board. I took the red/white squares and rinsed them in hot water and some bled and some didn't bleed. I am mostly using squares that were cut by other people so I never know if the fabric has been prewashed.

Well, here is the finished quilt: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t268073.html
Haven't washed it yet but the Synthrapol came in today and I have color catchers so one of these days I'll give it a try. Thanks for all the suggestions. :-)
