Help. My sister just called me. She used Beacon Adhesive permanent fabric glue and it ate through the plastic table cloth and is stuck on her table. She can't get it off. Any suggestions? She tried mineral spirits, goo-be-gone, and contractor's cleaner. Can't use nailpolish remover or it will eat away the table finish.

Even if she gets it off the table top may still be messed up because the glue has acetone in it and just the fumes can attack the finish much less the actaul glue getting on the table.

She might be refinishing a table in her near future! In the meen time has she tried picking it off. A PLASTIC putty knife may help.

Might be worth a try putting a piece of dry ice on it for awhile, then scraping it off.

Some adhesives will soften with heat. She could dry using a hair dryer to see if it softens the adhesive enough to scrape it off.

Thank you for your suggestions. I called her to try them, but it sounds like her table will need some work.
