Thanks for all the kind replies. I asked because I was bouncing back and forth between the two. Guess it is best to look for a third option in that case. Someone suggested a blue flang and that is what got me thinking this other solution. Actually, it is what my friend used on her quilt. I just did not want to do that much work. Oh well what is a little more time, considering all the time I spent piecing those pointed, or not so pointed, blocks.:)
You gals and guys are the best. Love this site even though I do not post often.

It's a dilemma! I am guessing that you like the blue best, but because it may not be 100% cotton, you need reassurance. Your blue really defines the blocks, but I would probably go with the yellow (#2 with blue posts) because it is cotton. Very pretty!

Normally, I prefer blue above all others, no matter what, so the fact that I think yellow is the better choice means this is without bias (forgive the quilting pun, there - ha!). I think the yellow (#2) makes the blocks pop out and become eye catching, whereas the blue (#1) causes the colors of the blocks to become toned down and more quiet. Didn't know quilt blocks had so much personality, did you? :)
