Default Help for selection of fabrics

I know I'm going to get some great advice here....Here's my problem I have material hanging on my design wall and decide if they all go together or not or if any of them would even work in the pattern I've choosen...The pattern I've picked is Ballerina by Jaybird...I've made this quilt before but am soooo stuck on fabric selection...Most of the fabric I selected were batiks with other patterns mixed in...I can remove up to 3 fabrics from this selection and be okay, but that would mean there would be 3 blocks per material piece. Because the blocks are fairly big, do you think these selections would work? I'm including a pic of the one I made before and also the material I've selected for the next one....Thanks in advance for any advice...If I have to change patterns or all material I will...this is for a wedding gift. The other quilt is the Ballerina.

I make a lot of bargellos and I like your colors except for the bright darker blue. I also like the fabrics in the first quilt except maybe that center purple may appear darker in the photo.

I like them all, but I would pull a couple of same colors in the middle. You want some contrast, right? Throw a grey in there.

maniacquilter I did think about a bargello the surf song to be exact but I don't have enough of that color way for 24 fabrics which is what I would need...The quilt size I'm thinking of making is at least a queen....Sewingitaltogether I see what you mean about the two being fairly similar I think If I pull out one of them it would look a lot better.

The fabric on your right would make a beautiful background because it appears to be a solid. I think all the fabrics are great except for the bright blue. Now that your fabric is in the picture, what do you think of the blue?

I like the first 6 from the left, but would pull the 7th as it's too much like the 5th from left. And I love the 8th, 9th,10th from the left with the first 6th. I'd not only keep that deeper blue, but look for another one that is just a tad light than that to include and then would also pull in a couple of purples (draw from that wonderful batik with the bit of purple in it)
and then I'd use a light gray for the background.

Agree, although they are all gorgeous!

So the first picture is the Ballerina pattern? If so since the blocks are separated by white, all your fabrics will be lovely except the darker blue on the left (second from the end) may be a bit bright.
