    I use a Zig Zag stitch - that catches both sides nicely and looks good too.

    I never use glue, just a skiny strip of heat and bond light along the edge inside the stitching from sewing on the first part of the binding. I find it faster and neater than glue as long as I am bringing the binding just a few threads past the first step binding stitches. It also makes machine sewing more accurate. Not sure how the glue thing got to be so great when using a light fusible has been much neater, after all fusibles are really just glue, but more precise.
