Going to add the sashing fabric as the inside border and then one of the other's as the outside border. The fabric store still had some more of the chicken fabric so that's what I'll probably use as the backing.

    Thank you again everyone!!! Muah!!!

I really like that....never saw that pattern before. I have been doing sashing on my quilt this evening too...its taking me a long time. I have never done sashing before. done for the night...getting too tired, I am hoping to finish the sashing tomorrow...I am trying to make sure I quilt a few hours every weekend. It harder to find time to quilt now that I am working again, but I will make the time.

I'm attaching a picture of a pattern that I have named "Chicken Coop." I'll send it to you if you want it.

After I posted my previous reply, I saw that you've already decided about your quilt. Good choice! He'll like that.

Here it is...I'm happy with the way it turned out. I was wondering if I should add another border. The inside border is 2 1/2". It's already long enough for my BIL the way it is now. But does it look unfinished with only the one border?

I think the attic window would be good too! Oops, spoke too soon. Very cute!

That would make a great attic window. Oh gee - I guess I should have finished reading the thread, lol. LOVE those chickens. It looks perfectly framed to me just as is.

Do you have a dark brown? Or just use it for the binding??
