had the same thing happen to me. basement flooded.
I discovered it should have been washed as soon as possible. In my case some faded onto other fabrics. Sort by color and get them in the washer and dryer chemicals and other stuff in dry wall could effect the fabrics.

{{{{HUGS}}}} We went through this not too long ago. We had a pipe freeze burst under the FR and into the garage. What an ever loving mess it was. I would not turn on the hot water at all until a plumber has come out. In fact, we were told to turn the water off.

This time I would make sure that even if the ceiling needs to be cut away and re-sheet rocked that all the pipes were looked at.

I would wash everything when possible.

Sorry to hear that. I would wash the fabric if you don't know how long it has been wet. And would seriously check into adding your fabric onto your insurance. Your room is beautiful by the way :) I would love to have a room like yours.
Hope the plumber calls back soon. Can you put a fan on the cabinet to dry the cabinet back up?

I would wash them just to be safe... it is better to do that, then to find odd stains/spots on them later on :D:D:D

I have to agree. If there's a lot that is wet, maybe going to a laundromat might be easier than home washing. Until it's the leak is fixed, I'd think about putting the dry fabric in plastic tubs. It would be a lot of work, but might save some washing (I don't prewash fabric either).

BTW, you have a lovely sewing studio - less the water, of course.

I would wash all of it for the water comes down through floors and wood would have a residue left on the fabric, so sorry this has happened to you again, I'd be hot under the collar that who ever was supposed to have fixed it the last time didn't do there
job right so this wouldn't be happening now.Hope you can get it fixed right this time around.

So sorry to hear this. I hope you are able to fix this without disrupting your household for very long. Since the water was clean I would just throw the fabric in the dryer and go from there.

Definitely wash before drying. For now though, until you can use the washing machines, I'd hang it to dry versus leaving it folded wet to avoid mildew.
