What a tragedy! After finishing a wedding quilt for my son, a beautiful black and white quilt from Fons & Porter, I tossed it in the washer to rinse in cold water to remove the last of the yellow chalk markings, and one of the black fabrics bled slightly. I am not in the habit of prewashing fabrics, and this is the first time this has ever happened to me in 10 years. Does anyone know of any magic that may help me now?

OMG! I would be devistated!
I have no clue what to do. Would suggest a Tide Stick, but since that contains bleach, it would get the rest of it.
I'm sure someone here would have an answer for you.
BTW...You gots a pic of it??

Sorry about what happened to your quilt. but in the future try using "color catcher sheets that can be found in your local grocery store. I do prewash my fabric and always put one of the color catcher sheets in with the fabric and it draws all the dye that bleeds out of the fabric. Works like magic. I am sure there is someone here that can help you. Marge

I had a quilt I made last year, that I made for my granson who lives with me . It has been washed a couple of times, I don't prewash either. A few colors bled or smeared almost. I had just got the shout sheets and it cleaned it right up.
