About 5 years ago I was in the kit buying mood and bought several. They sat on a shelf all this time because I was afraid of what if I make a mistake and cut something wrong. Now I have lost that fear and really getting things done. I just pull one down off shelf and get busy. Its fun to see how my taste and styles have changed over time. Will I ever get all these UF'O done and do all the free patterns I have collected over the years? No but I am having fun along the way.

good luck! Just set a goal to not start another project until the last stitch is done on your binding and/or quilt label! I get really focused (obsessed, I think, is more accurate!) on what ever I am currently working on and try to just ignore every other project that calls to me until I am done with it. Besides, years ago, when I started quilting and really got the bug while living overseas, I would pick about 12 quilt projects I just had to make, come to the States, buy all the fabrics for each quilt and keep them in jumbo zip lock bags with the pattern. At first, I went thru them, one by one to finish them, but by the time I got to the last few, my tastes changed and I no longer wanted to make them. Also, I got more confident during the process to make more difficult quilts that I really liked so decided to just add that un-used fabric to my stash, and start a totally new quilt. Anyway, all this time and I still only have one UFO, if you don't count the quilts I have ready to make, but haven't started yet.

That's all I have in my sewing room is UFO's. I really need to see about getting some of them done.

I know it's easier and more fun to start a new project. I made a list--at least 10 and counting UFOs. I keep telling myself it will feel so good to finish something. I am going to finish a quilt today! One down!

Is it still a UFO if you have the blocks cut, but not sewn. Or if you have the fabric and have designed the quilt, but not started it?

I also have more than I care to count. I have tried to limit myself to starting new projects and getting out my UFO's to work on. Our LQS is having a UFO workshop the first Sat. of the month, hopefully that will help me get caught up. Also I meet with my sis and 2 cousins and one girlfriend once a month and I am gonna work on UFO's. Hope you get caught up, then you can go buy some more fabric....
