Happens to me a lot. I tore the house apart looking for a brand new pair of quilting gloves. Couldn't find it. I waited and waited and waited but, still, it never showed up. I bought a new pair and, wouldn't you know, the first pair showed up.

Gosh this happens to me a lot, I never thought of a material spirit maybe needing to use them. If she is taking them she could at least show me what she has made with them. I envision my children finding them after I am gone and trying to figure out what to do with them.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with a resident ghost at my house. I know mine loved to sew - she left 2 sewing machines behind for me. As for the misplacement of fabric/projects, I store everything I want to keep in recycle bags - that way hubby/son don't accidently pitch them in trash. Good luck finding your missing "whites."

We are spending the winter in a 1 BR, 550 sq. ft. condo down south. I had five bags of scraps - blues, reds, everything else colored, white-on-white, and white prints, that I was planning to iron and cut into charm squares. I cut up the first four bags and now I am ready to do the white prints-- can I find that bag anywhere? Of Course not. I have looked everywhere it could be, twice.
I wrote last fall about a quilting hoop that disappeared from my sewing room up north and wound up in the attic. I blamed it on Emily, our resident spirit. I hope she did not follow us to Alabama.
I still have one trick up my sleeve - I am going to file away all the charm squares I have already cut up, which I was going to do when I finished my cutting. If that doesn't bring out the last bag, I give up.
