A cutting mat. self-healing, that never needs replacing b/c even thought it's use all the time, it doesn't ever wear out.
My old one is dying with threads everywhaere coming out of it and Dh said with my 1st paycheck I can replace it. YES!!! This time I will get one that's 36X24 instead of 35X23. What a stupid size!! GRRR!!!

I'd be a metallic thread, because I can sit there on my peg board, look pretty and watch everything that goes on in the sewing room. And, when it's my turn, I will make the quilts sparkle.

I'd have to be the binding that holds it all together as the finishing touch . :D

I would be a color wheel. I love color and have a good color sense. To see miss matched colors makes me cringe as if someone was scraping their fingernails on the chalk board. The only place that I can tolorate and actually like sometimes miss matched colors is in a scrappy quilt.

I would like to be the perfect hoop. One that is held in your arms and loving quilted with. I would always be in your arms and around the most wonderful work in progress.

Well, after much pondering, and walking around my sewing room, and making a list and crossing things off
I think I would love to just be a huge book of patterns!! :-D :-D
I have one with 82 patterns in it, a history of quilting from the past, and I love it. So, that is my choice, a book to look at and dream of making all those quilts.
