I've just made my first one and I have the same issue, the fabric kept shifting and it makes it appear as if its an inch to a couple of inches shorter on one side, I was so disappointed. Also I measured the fabric and the strips were not 44" as it was listed they ranged from 42.5" to 44". I think I read somewhere that a good tip is to change direction with every strip you sew so you don't have that shifting. I'll have to try it on my next roll.
