Hex and Wedge Templates
I am wanting to make the table runners in the Missour Star Quilt Co tutorials for the Chrstmas Trees. One calls for a Large Half Hex template and the other for a Large Wedge template. I have been to 2 quilt stores, Hancocks, Joanns, Hobby Lobby and Micheals and nobody has the Large Half Hex or Large Wedge templates in stock. I have also called The Missouri Star Quilt Co and several others trying to locate these templates but everyone is out of stock and I'm not having any luck on the web. So, I am trying to make my own templates but need some help/advise since math is not my cup of tea. If any of you have either template can you please share the size/measurements of them so I can attempt to draw them out?
I have a template for a 9x9x13 Strip Tube Ruler by Cosey Quilt Design that resembles the Wedge Ruler. If I used this ruler for the Wedge Ruler, would it work with the excepton of my tree being shorter and wider than the tree shown in the tutorial? And, if I used the lower half of this same ruler, could I make it work for the Half Hex and would the pattern look OK if the angles on the tree were sharper than those on the tutorial?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me with this.

Try Amazon.com put Large Hexagon Quilt Template in the search area and it will come up. There were several available. The other one I am not familiar with so not sure what will or will not work.
Good luck!

When I wanted to do my MSQC table runner last year I couldn't get the half hex ruler also. I did however had my 60* triangle ruler. I was able to use painter's tape to mark where I wanted to cut the shape from a strip of fabric. I will post a picture of my marked ruler beside the shape I cut. I would have placed it over the shape but then you can't see the ruler. Let's see if this picture will load and maybe it will help you.

On this Half-hexagon quilt tutorial page you'll find a link to a downloadable template. I don't know if the size is what you need but you could probably use your copier to make it any size. The dimensions are still there.

Me too. Thank you to everyone who replied, I have been wondering how to make this since I couldn't find the ruler I wanted. I have the 60' ruler but just plain didn't even think of the painter's tape. Thank you so much everyone for sharing.
